Indiana Blaze Track & Field Program

“Speed. Strength. Discipline. Excellence.”

The Indiana Blaze Track & Field Program provides youth athletes with the opportunity to develop speed, strength, and endurance while building the character and discipline needed to succeed in athletics and life.

Our goal is to prepare athletes ages 6–18 for competition at every level, from local meets to national events. With expert coaching, structured training, and a supportive community, Blaze Track helps athletes push beyond their limits and achieve their personal bests.

Key Program Details

  • Divisions: Ages 6–18

  • Season Start: March 2026 (Indoor or Outdoor – to be confirmed)

  • Practice Locations: Facilities in Hammond/East Chicago area (final location pending)

  • Events Offered: Sprinting, distance, hurdles, relays, jumps, and throws

  • Program Director: Tracy Caldwell

  • Additional Coaches: Onboarding new staff to expand event-specific training

Training & Development

  • Fundamentals of basketball: ball handling, shooting, defense, and conditioning.

  • Player accountability & discipline: expectations on and off the court.

  • Team play: fostering collaboration and communication.

  • Skills for advancement: preparing athletes for competitive tournaments and future recruitment opportunities.

Fundraising & Community Events
 

To keep the program affordable and sustainable, Blaze Basketball will host:

  • Shootathon – athletes raise funds through sponsored shooting challenges.

  • Merchandise Sales – branded Blaze gear to promote team pride.

  • Game Day Concessions – snacks and drinks to support program costs.

  • Community Events – family-friendly gatherings to build spirit and awareness.
